- I went to Gothenburg and stayed with my friend Doug- one of the guys I did the Camino de Santiago with. I spent quite a bit of time with his friends and family, which was awesome. He’s got a great little guest house I stayed in, which was really nice. Some highlights included a boat ride and party on one of the coastal island with some of his friends, and going to a few concerts in town.
- One of my best friends and bandmate Maryjo came to hang out during my trip- she joined me in Gothenburg for a few days. A definite highlight would be the Norwegian punk band we saw with Doug… “Honningbarna.” The lead singer is this little dude in a sweater vest- who is a total beast on stage, and plays some seriously epic hardcore cello. It was an incredible show.
- Another highlight was the Swedish countryside. Doug has a cabin with a sauna on a lake. I went twice- MJ came once. It’s beautiful there. And the mushroom picking was unreal- we went mushroom picking once and after about walking in the woods for about 45 minutes, probably had 10 pounds worth of chanterelles. Delicious… Made fresh sandwiches and soup.
