November 5, 2015, Venice (Day 1)

The cruise ship arrived in Venice in the afternoon, and my parents and I did a walking tour that was supposed to take us through parts of the city that were less touristy. It was pretty good, but… I’m pretty sure there’s no way to get away from tourists in that city anymore, unfortunately. My parents and I managed to leave the group early to see Piazza San Marco before we had to return to the ship, which was a nice little adventure.

The featured image is of a crooked chimney. For some reason, I just really like it- it’s the best example, but after spotting it I pretty much spent the next 2 days looking for crooked and weird chimneys. There are a lot of interesting chimneys in Venice. This one’s the best tho… I think it’s cute…. its got some personality…

Here’s a gallery of a bunch of chimneys in Venice… (and one crooked clock tower.)
